We feel that we should let all our friends know that unfortunately, following Wednesday evening, we were asked to attend Ashfield Police Station where we received a £10,000 fine.
Before opening as we have moved through the various guidance and law changes, we have always sought advice. Following the announcement of moving to Tier 3 we again asked and were assured that everything we were doing was sufficient.
The police that came on Wednesday, although believing that we didn’t do anything deliberately, did not agree with the advice we received. We have taken all their points on board and look forward to working closely with them to ensure safe and legal evenings and afternoons when we are able to reopen.
We are not in a financial position after months of closure and reduced capacity to take the risk that contesting this would involve and, upon reflection, we agree with many of the points that have been raised, so we have to accept this and look forward.
The police have requested that we hand over all the details, that we legally had to take as part of the contact tracing laws, of those who attended on Wednesday.
It has since become apparent that some of our guests have since tested positive and we would urge anyone with symptoms to get tested without delay.
We adore our wonderful Diamond and we know you all do too. We’ll be back just as soon as we can, and we can’t wait to share great live music with you all.
