The
original part of the building was constructed in 1884, during Queen Victoria's
reign, and The Diamond has played its own unique part in the social scene of
North Nottinghamshire ever since.
In the post WWII era the place buzzed as a dance hall and casino. In the Swinging
60's and early 70's the venue attracted big name bands and solo artists, such
as The Troggs, Procol Harem and Lulu. In the late 70's disco fever hit The Diamond,
and throughout the 80's and 90's DJ's played the latest tunes to a lively crowd.
The Millennium saw a return to The Diamonds' roots - of live music, and bands
of a high standard, but with a difference! The Diamond specialises in Tribute
Bands almost every Saturday night throughout the year.
The covers include a variety of acts from across several decades and styles
of music, but all offer an excellent night out, with great music and a party
atmosphere. It's for grown-ups who remember what fun used to be!
